About the Book

The aim of this book is to present the sequential steps for developing the computer programs for the design of electrical machines, using well-established design formulae.  The data of magnetic and non-magnetic materials used in latest designs by industries, is applied for optimizing the design.

Salient Features

· MATLAB version of C language is used for computer programming because of its easiness and simplicity over conventional C program.

· The total program is split into a number of parts and each part is run independently. The total program for total design is obtained by adding the programs of all the parts.

About the Author

K. M. Vishnu Murthy did his B.E (Elec) from Govt. College of Engineering, Kakinada, and obtaining first rank from Andhra University. He has done M.Tech in Electrical Power Systems from Osmania University. He worked for 29 years in Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Hyderabad in the area of Design & Computerization of Electrical Generators up to 200 MVA rating. He contributed for development of around 90 new optimized designs of generators. He has attended many technical conferences in India and abroad.

                After taking voluntary retirement in BHEL as Sr. Dy. General Manager, he joined G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology & Science, Hyderabad in 2001 as Associate Professor in EEE Dept. He taught “Design of Electrical Machines” and “Computer-Aided Design of Electrical Machines” to M. Tech. students. He received “Academic Excellence Award” in 2005 from the institute.
